About the Lodge

Veteran owned and operated.

Lodge History

Gate Creek Cabins was founded in the early '90s by Gary and Dorothy Rawie. Susie and Craig Seibert discovered the property as guests during that time and later fulfilled their dream of ownership when Gary and Dorothy retired. Tragically, Craig passed away from pancreatic cancer on June 28, 2012. Despite the many changes, Susie's deep affection for the property remained steadfast. Rod became a part of the Gate Creek Cabins family as a permanent member having been the chief maintenance manager for the last 20 years and is now a life partner for Susie. Rod and Susie have recently decided to retire to Florida, leaving Gate Creek in the capable hands of Mac and Ellie Butler.

A favorite retreat for locals, Gate Creek Lodge is ideally located next to hundreds of groomed snowmachine trails and the untouched powder of the Alaska Range. We offer on-site snowmachine rentals and fuel. In the summer, our cabins provide a tranquil, nearly private setting with stunning views of South Denali and access to miles of four-wheeling and biking trails. Gate Creek Lodge is ideally situated to provide a cozy, inviting cabin where you can drive right up and access snowmachining directly from your front door. With stunning views of Denali, the highest peak in North America, it’s perfect for an unforgettable winter getaway or a summer adventure.

Our Cabins

Our six rental cabins are managed by Mac and Ellie, who live on the property year-round. With their extensive Alaskan backcountry and hospitality experience, they are always on hand to ensure you make the most of your stay.

What to Expect

In Alaska, it's quite unique to have a warm, comfortable cabin you can drive to and snowmachine right from its front door.
